Frequently Asked Questions

The most common questions we receive about ordering from Woodford Tooling — answered clearly and concisely.

Do you offer next-day delivery?

Yes. Orders placed before 2:00 PM on weekdays are dispatched the same day and delivered the next working day to UK mainland addresses via Royal Mail Tracked. Orders placed after the cut-off, or on weekends and bank holidays, are dispatched the following working day.

Can I return a custom-cut bandsaw blade?

No. Custom-cut bandsaw blades and other made-to-order items are manufactured to your specific dimensions and cannot be returned unless they arrive faulty or do not match your confirmed order. If you have any concerns about a custom order, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we will resolve the issue promptly.

Who pays import VAT on EU orders?

EU orders are shipped on a Delivered at Place (DAP) basis. This means UK VAT is not charged at checkout, but import VAT and any applicable customs duties are the responsibility of the customer and will typically be collected by the carrier upon delivery. VAT-registered EU businesses may be able to reclaim import VAT through their local tax authority.

Do you offer Click & Collect in Cheshire?

Yes. You can collect your order from our warehouse in Stockport, Cheshire. Select ‘Click & Collect’ at checkout and wait for your ‘Ready to Collect’ confirmation email before travelling. Collection is available Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Please bring your order confirmation and photo ID.

How do loyalty points work?

You earn loyalty points on every qualifying purchase. Points accumulate in your account and can be redeemed as a discount at checkout on future orders. Points do not expire as long as you place at least one order every 12 months. Both hobbyist and trade customers are eligible. Full details, including the current points-per-pound rate and redemption value, are shown in your account dashboard once registered.

Do you offer bulk or multi-pack discounts?

Yes. Multi-pack options are available on selected bandsaw blades (packs of 2, 5, and 10) and bulk pricing applies on planer and jointer blade sets when ordering 2, 5, or 10+ sets. These options are shown directly on relevant product pages. Trade and commercial customers requiring larger or bespoke volumes should contact us directly for a quote.

How quickly are refunds processed?

Refunds are processed within 2 working days of us receiving the returned item and confirming it meets the return conditions. For faulty or incorrect items, we aim to resolve defect claims within 2 working days of receiving photographic evidence — a return may not be required. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

Can you cut bandsaw blades to a custom length?

Yes. We manufacture bandsaw blades to custom lengths and widths to suit machines not covered by our standard range. Simply provide your required blade length, width, tooth pitch, and machine make/model when ordering and we will confirm the specification before production. Custom blades are typically dispatched within 1–3 working days.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, and Apple Pay / Google Pay via Shopify Payments. All transactions are processed securely and card details are never stored on our systems. Trade account customers may be eligible for invoice payment terms — contact us to discuss.

Can I track my order?

Yes. A tracking number is sent by email as soon as your order is dispatched. UK orders are tracked via Royal Mail or DPD. International orders are tracked via the relevant carrier (DHL or Royal Mail International). If you have not received a dispatch notification within one working day of placing your order, please contact us.

What steel grades are your planer and jointer blades available in?

Our planer and jointer blades are available in High Speed Steel (HSS) and, for selected sizes, Tungsten Carbide Tipped (TCT). HSS is the standard professional choice for general softwood and hardwood planing. TCT blades offer extended edge life and are well suited to abrasive or engineered timber products such as MDF and chipboard. Tersa-compatible knives are also stocked in both grades.

Do you offer trade accounts for workshops and joinery businesses?

Yes. We work with joinery workshops, timber merchants, cabinet makers, and other commercial woodworking businesses across the UK and internationally. Trade account benefits can include volume pricing, priority dispatch, and consolidated invoicing. Contact us with details of your business and typical requirements to discuss a trade account arrangement.
